This is complete fantasy. Just an absurd made up lie. The EU is not giving Trump $600 billion to invest anyway I want. They arent giving him 1 dollar to invest. It is just astonishing that a president can go on a financial network and lie like this & it barely registers. https://bsky.app/profile/ronfilipkowski.bsky.socia...

He's wandering around the roof of the White House, shouting to reporters gathered below on the lawn.
Barking mad, he is.

wzambon: The context for this quote makes it even more astonishing. He's wandering around the roof of the White House, shouting to reporters gathered below on the lawn.
In fact, the source of the quote is even worse: he was speaking with CNBC "financial experts" on SQUAWK BOX this morning before he took to the roof. He repeatedly lied without pushback -- claiming "we're drilling at levels nobody as ever seen before" when the country is at the lowest active oil rigs in years -- made dog-whistle racist comments about Blacks and Latinos, and claimed that last month's jobs numbers were rigged.
Oh, and Mad King Donald is still a pedophile.

While I think it's good to remind people of that a lot, I do hope the Dems are not pinning on their campaign plans on that. That's a recipe for failure.

I don't see anything that resembles that, so I wonder why you are bringing that up. I am expecting us to use the coming inflationary recession to wedge people away from Trump and Co. The core cult is difficult though, and Epstein seems to a way.
By the way, was Arnold prompted to come out against CA gerrymandering? I don't think he does things in a vacuum.

I don't see anything that resembles that,...
I don't see anything at all coming from the Dem side right now. Even the Epstein outrage is mostly MAGA. If Dems are speaking, it's not very loudly. Not enough to attract any coverage.
I hope you're right that they are gearing up to blast the Reps with the voters along the lines of "this is what they did to YOU", and "they took this from YOU", etc. Job loss, inflation, loss of ACA benefits, loss of Medicaid benefits... Sure, remind voters of Epstein frequently. But, frankly, they are going to care more about jobs, and medical benefits.
I wasn't aware (since I don't live in CA), but apparently Arnold got the anti-gerrymandering legislation passed. So, CA is one of the few states (the only one?) that doesn't have political districting. It's about as non-partisan as you can get. What I have read would indicate that he believes gerrymandering is evil (I agree), and he doesn't want one of his biggest accomplishments to be nullified. That's why he's speaking out now.

I think we all agree gerrymandering is anti-republic and anti-democratic, but my experience is that once someone has an advantage they aren't going to give it up. There are 8 states with prohibition and 4 more where redistricting isn't necessary. see wiki
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering_in_th...While I agree, I think we need to fight fire with fire right now. If we see it's getting better we can rethink tactics, but right now we have to assume the worst. Do Dope, LM, or Mike look like they are abandoning Trump? No. If he tries for a third term they'll go along with it. I hope a year from now I'm singing a different tune.
The only Dem that stands out so far is Newsome, and many people don't like him.
