I don't like the tone. I don't like the 'america is evil' aura and mentality.

I don't get that from her, but -as I said- she doesn't represent my district, so I don't hear her regularly. What I have heard is a desire to be better. Better at treating our own people (e.g. healthcare), better at treating other nations (e.g. don't bomb them without good reason), and comporting with our own laws (and international laws). Just because we call out the fact of -for example- slavery doesn't mean we say "America is evil". We've done evil things, and we should try to be better about that in the future.

If we were in 1980, I'd agree with you about "tax the wealthy". The top tax rate was something like 80%. That's enough. But 40+ years later, Reps have pushed tax cuts such that the top bracket is around 37%, and inherited wealth is hardly taxed at all. The lower brackets have nudged down a it, but most of the tax code has been changed to benefit the wealthy. So, yes, today we need to tax the wealthy. It's not envy. I'm retired, and not looking to get a Migaloo submarine yacht (though it is really cool). We should be able to live out the rest of our days in modest comfort, and that's all we really want. It's just fairness. The wealthy have benefited in an out-sized way from what this country provided them (rule of law, infrastructure, various freedoms, etc). They should pay more because they benefited more. That can then be used to fund our military, health programs, food programs, and anything else that raises the floor in our country. Plus funding international aid to improve our influence overseas, which benefits us politically and economically.

I suspect we are going to need more "free" as time goes on simply because automation and AI will be replacing a LOT of us. I think it may be the first time something disruptive (e.g. industrial revolution) didn't wind up creating more jobs than it replaced. But that will run off onto a tangent really quickly, so I'll stop here.

BTW, the Reps and MAGA are also going in a direction. That direction is backwards. I heard something recently about that. A man comes to a fork in the road. If he goes left, he goes back where he came from. He knows it, it's "safe". If he goes right, it's unknown what hazards and benefits are there. If he wants to progress at all, he has to go right. It's the future. I'm not phrasing as eloquently as I heard it, but hopefully you get the idea.
