In a strange request, Trump asked that the debt ceiling be raised as part of the budget deal. This seemed counter intuitive, but it appears the (D) house members figured it out. Trump plans for massive tax cuts and the debt ceiling change would enable that.

I'm confused by that as well. I thought Musk was going to slash government spending,
If that's the case, why would they need the debt ceiling to be raised ?? Shouldn't they
be lowering the debt ceiling ??

Musk and Trump are sending out some mixed signals. It's almost like we can't trust them.
I never voted for Musk, maybe the voters that put him in power can explain it.

Plus, and this is just so good for America, leaving the debt ceiling alone now sets up another "sky is falling" opportunity in 2025 to raise the debt ceiling with another predictable load of pork packed into the resulting must pass legislation.

Yep, you're right, tax cuts for billionaires is definitely pork. And who gets to pay? The middle and lower class. It's the new American way.

Nice nickname! The full name is probably Elonald Trusk (or perhaps Donelon Mump) 😊

I think every board lib ought to eat nothing but Yellow Dye #666 and let us know how it goes.

Why do that? Yellow dye #2 is dangerous. Just because RFKjr got that one right doesn’t make him right on vaccines or a host of other harebrained notions of his.

The man is dangerous. His stance on YD doesn’t make him less so.

What is his stance on vaccines right now?

Don't tell me what he thought 20 years ago. Tell me what his stance is RIGHT NOW and what he plans to say during his confirmation hearings. Do you actually expect him to sit there and say, "Nobody should take a mumps shot?" or something?

What is his stance on vaccines right now?

His status is… ambivalent.

He says current vaccines need to be rigorously tested. They already have been.

He says he’s not going to pull vaccines off the market, but he can make it difficult to obtain them, and that’s what I fully expect him to do.

Vaccines are not simply about vaccinating your ow kids. They’re also about vaccinating the kids that your kids play and go to school with.

He’s taked about discouraging school vaccine mandates, and that is flat out dangerous.

And Amy Coney Barrett and Bret Kavenaugh, during their Senate hearings, called Row v Wade “settled law”.

So I think Bobby is going to follow their lead and lie hiss ass off.

Really? Would some of the COVId vaccinations be in that category?

Again, has he said that or is that an assumption on the media’s part?

Sadly, having 1 good idea doesn’t outweigh having 10 horrible and harmful ideas.

Indeed. I recall reading (in some place I'm too lazy to find again) that the brain worm is something his heroin damaged brain grabbed on to, possibly as a coping mechanism to keep from taking full responsibility for the heroin use. He found a doctor that suggested a parasitic worm as one remote possibility for his brain damage and ran with that.

While the brain worm makes for a lot of fun by his critics, it's unlikely to be true. It's far more likely to be the long term result of heroin use.

Nay. He thinks they've been tested enough to show they were effective on the targets of Caucasians and black people.

So the answer is Yes. Got it.

No, you don’t got it. And I think you know you don’t got it.

A good idea is a good idea, regardless of where it comes from.

Mussolini got all the trains running on time, which is a good thing. But I’m not sure I’ve ever heard anyone singing praises to him because of all the bad things he did.

RFK Jr has stated processed foods are bad for you and I think he’s absolutely correct! Personally, I avoid processed foods (and RFK Jr) like the plague. The fact that he got 1 thing right, doesn’t offset the enormous stupidity and deathly harm that will occur if he convinces people to avoid getting the polio vaccine.

As an aside, when Jonas Salk was asked by an interviewer about who owned the patent for the polio vaccine, he said “Well, the people, I would say. There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?”

Now that man is an American hero. However, to be honest, I’m not sure if he later tried to sell cheap gold sneakers, cheap guitar rip-offs, NFTs of himself, official Salk Bibles, worthless stock, fake university diplomas, or bankrupted a casino.

Even Trump once had a good idea! Let’s fund a Covid vaccine! Of course then he told his cult not to take it but instead inject disinfectant to cure Covid. So you see, having 1 good idea doesn’t offset the fact that Trump’s actions caused hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Do you got it now?

The point you so glibly misrepresent (or actually miss) is that a junkie is a junkie is a junkie.

The point, simply: RFK Jr. is damaged goods.

Damaged goods ain't what ya wants in a cabinet position where a rational NON-JUNKIE mind is what is needed.

There are a lot of non-damaged scientists/physicians who have the administrative chops that are not KNOWN CONSPIRACY THEORISTS.

Oh...and not JUNKIES!

Sadly, having 1 good idea <removing food dye> doesn’t outweigh having 10 horrible and harmful ideas.

That idea (removing unnecessary/possibly carcinigous additives and chemicals from our food supply) is not even an original idea. There have been healthy food advocates for as long as I can remember screaming bloody murder about unnecessary, even dangerous dyes, and possibly carcinogenic additives in our food supply.

Health advocates are no match for the lobbyists, the libertarians of the food and beverage and tobacco industries who scream bloody murder if their right to sell crap is threatened.

I have a libertarian friend who feels everything we consume should be 'caveat emptor' with respect to all ingredients, quality control inspections, etc. If something is wrong, he believes somehow enough people will know, stop buying the product, perhaps sue the merchant or manufacturer, and the bad merchant will go broke, so no merchant will do bad shit because it'll lose it's market or get sued into non-existence.

I ask him how that helps the people who are poisoned today. He hasn't quite figgered that one out yet.

Indeed. It's surprising that nobody has demanded RFK's medical records to validate the junkies brain worm claim.

The vetting process should demand testimony from the physician(s) who said 'brainworm.'

There are some really shitty doctors, criminal doctors, out there; quacks, grifters, perverts, white collar thieves.

It' amazing how Trump attracts people like that; America's Frontline Doctors, Oz, Dr Demon Semen, etc,

Check out beauty, Elonald's nominee for surgeon general: You can see her qualifications right up front to sell Vitamins and be surgeon general. It'll be interesting to see what she says about the proliferation of guns in homes considering she "accidentally" blew her father's brains out as he slept.

I don't think that's going to be the case with this brain worm silliness. As I said before, it was probably an honest doctor stretching to find potential explanations for RFK's symptoms. But in his drug altered mental state at that time, the parasite was an explanation that RFK could grab onto and understand, while also making his condition something that wasn't his fault.
