If someone appears to be repeatedly personal, lean towards patience as they might not mean offense. If you are sure, however, then do not deepen the problem by being negative; instead, simply place them on ignore by clicking the unhappy yellow face to the right of their name.

The Associated Press was not allowed in the White House to observe the Trump/Vance act to try and impress their hero, cold-blooded murderer and dictator Putin. The infantile, and obviously demented Trump, banned the AP because they still insist on calling the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of Mexico.
But wait! There’s more!!
Guess who was there?
The Russian state news organization, TASS.
Then, someone pointed out that TASS was not authorized to be in the White House theater performance. So, after a short while, the Secret Service escorted TASS out of the White House.
Which begs the question “How the hell did an unauthorized individual from the Russian state news organization get access to the White House LET ALONE BE IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE PRESIDENT AND VP????????”
Is it OK to just walk into the White House and walk around unattended?
Is Trump or Vance the Manchurian Candidate?

I worked at the WH. '08-'11. Slept there about 110 nights of my life, as we did shifts that ran from 24-96 hours.
Here's how many people get into the WH uninvited: 0
The security apparatus there is extraordinary. Multiple showings of one's credentials (or for the Great American Public doing tours, showing ID and getting their permission checked by agents in a screening trailer), magnetometer, more credentials at the door to the grounds, and in my case still more security down in the PEOC.
So, if RU state media is there, it is because the WH press office wanted them there.

Worth repeating.
Reuters and AP were not invited.
Russian propaganda channel WAS invited.

We knew in 2016 he was a Manchurian Candidate (of a sort). He was just disorganized because nobody expected him to win. This time he prepared for the win, and we have a more destructive Manchurian Candidate. The only thing that can stop him is the courts. Or if Congress were to impeach and remove him (ha!!).

The problem with impeaching and removing him is the order of Presidential succession.

I would submit that Vance is better than the Felon. If the election were between those two, I would have had to vote for Vance. Even though I don't like him. Vance is smarter (not a high bar to clear in the case of the Felon), a bit more politically savvy, and I'm not certain he is in Putin's pocket.

In two years we could have a different speaker.
Here's hoping...

If a few seats flip in the upcoming special elections, we may have a new speaker in a few weeks.

If there were only, what, 12 Senators, and a few Representatives with enough smoldering outrage at what Trump et al are doing, they could band together and impeach Trump, Vance and Johnson in short order. Then when Grassley becomes President, they just have to threaten to impeach him unless he tows the "moderate Republican" line. I suppose being "primaried" is still a threat, unless Musk's millions can be neutered by threats to cancel all his government contracts.

Yep, it is corruption and stupidity all the way down.

In a way, I kind of hope they don’t. An awful lot of voters need to learn what the current Republican Party is all about. The only way they will learn that is by experience.
Flipping the House in special elections will keep that from happening. Failures of GOP policy can be blamed on the Democrats in the House rather than on the bad policy where it belongs.
It’s kind of like raising kids. Sometimes you have to let them do stupid stuff and suffer the consequences. As long as it’s not life-threatening, pain can be an excellent teacher.

Kids can learn. Cultists mostly cannot.

That's true in the long run, but in the long run we're all dead. In this case, in the short run the US will be dead.

Can they? Sure.
But are they?.... Not so much.
Common sense idea, shut down <most of**> the ineffective Department of Education and send those billions of dollars to the states.
So, how bad is the Department of Education doing? This bad:
The United States ranks 13th in the Education Index, which measures factors like expected years of schooling and educational achievements. However, U.S. students often score below average in math and science compared to other countries, ranking 34th in math and 16th in science in recent assessments.
**/B>The part of the Dept of Education that I think should remain federalized is the part that supports special needs students. Accommodating these students is immensely expensive and having just one such student move into a small town school district can devastate the school budget. Plus being federalized allows for consistent standards of care as well as the possibility of economies of scale.

Under current circumstances, that isn't the best. He appears to be determined to tear down all the guard rails, and assert absolute power. We shouldn't wait four years for him to complete that task. Therefore, we need the courts and Congress to do their jobs and stop his power grab. But I'm not optimistic. Though, in two years we'll likely have a change in Congress, and then maybe they can remove the SOB. As I said, Vance is probably better. Still a horrible choice, but better than the Felon.
