So Reps are saying they will have the FBI track down missing Dems from TX. And then what? Is it a crime to leave the state of TX? Can the FBI forcibly return them if they committed no crime? Even if they did commit a crime, there is still extradition that should be necessary, yes?

What can TX really do? My first impression is that the Reps are just trying to look tough. As the article said, the FBI can locate the wayward Dems, but they don't appear to be able to do much else after that.

gov abbott has it wrong here, and had it wrong in uvalde...running away seems pretty standard in texas.

I"m against what they are doing.

Mind you, I'm someone who even on TMF - said thatg gerrymandering run amok - and "safe" districts were one of hte most destructive things to a constitution based America.

I'mn not saying not to fight it.


BUT i am saying.....

Sopt the they/them shit.

Stop the "garcia!" shit.


Medicaid and ACA is political gold on a silver platter.

GerryMander won't matter if Red consituents quietly - vote blue.

GerryMander won't matter if Red consituents quietly - vote blue.

In principle, yes. In practice, not so much. There are a lot of red constituents who just cannot vote blue, so matter how much red is hurting them. I don't pretend to understand the psychology of that. But there are a lot of hardcore red (and, for that matter, blue) that simply cannot pull the level for the other team. No matter what.
