AI makes us to not think. Like water we go the way of least resistance = leave the thinking to AI.
Why don't people ever make that complaint about libraries? Especially University libraries? I am sure I have spent tens of thousands of hours reading the thoughts of others in order to avoid having to develop those thoughts myself from scratch.
And what about working collaboratively with all those people I have worked with over all those years? Especially the ones who were smarter than me? How much thinking did I successfully avoid by using their thoughts?
Ignoring the extent to which human knowledge is a collaborative effort is really really REALLY missing the point, seems to me. If reading and collaborative work made us think less, then this would make sense, but I don't think that's the way it works for the people who build the world.
