Of course the Republicans on the panel tried desperately to smear Smith and failed miserably.

But they did achieve what was probably their real goal: to get a few sound bites that the RW media can use to keep their audience in the dark.

Smith acquitted himself admirably. He told the plain, unvarnished truth, and stated what is obvious to any objective observer: his investigation had developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that would have sustained a conviction at trial.

Then the MAGA morons gave Trump his get-out-of-jail-free card and reelected the crook.
