Moses Johnson made his pilgrimage down to Mar-a-Lago today to pledge his fealty to the one man blocking border security in the United States, DJT. Naturally, reporters wanted to know about their efforts to kill women by keeping them from getting life-saving medical care and, as usual, DJT sprouted word salad.
TRUMP:

Republican-led states banning reproductive rights as a result of Trump's successful efforts to pack the court with justices eager to overturn Roe v. Wade is “very beautiful harmony”?
Anywho, vice president Harris was on the road today in Tucson speaking about DJT's plan to continue to attack reproductive freedom if reelected, a plan they have said they'll implement on day one, promoted by "Project 2025," even without congressional consent or approval. They will use another law from the 1800s called the Comstock act to ban reproductive medication across all 50 states which will have wide-ranging effects on women in the U.S., including on miscarriage care.
The Comstock Act is an 1873 anti-obscenity law, named after anti-vice crusader Anthony Comstock. The law, which is still on the books, calls for banning the mailing or shipping of "every obscene, lewd, lascivious, indecent, filthy or vile article, matter, thing, device, or substance." In addition, it specifically outlaws mailing "every article or thing designed, adapted, or intended for producing abortion."In short, any medicine sent through the mail that could be used for abortion care would be outlawed, even in states where abortion is legal.
Presidential campaigns never know quite what to do with vice presidents, how to define their role in a campaign, but this is an ideal issue for Harris, a woman championing the rights of women.
"We all must understand who is to blame — former President Donald Trump did this," Harris said. "Here's what a second Trump term looks like: more bans, more suffering and less freedom."
“This is 2024, not the 1800s. And we're not going back."Harris needed a defining issue. Republicans have given her several: reproductive care, women's health, contraception, and more. As a former prosecutor, she was made to argue for the rights of women.
