“Couldn’t keep a straight thought”

“All over the map”

“didn’t outline how he hopes to achieve his policy proposals”

“These were people who I think might’ve been actually predisposed to him and actually walked out of the room less predisposed to him.”

Meanwhile, Steven Cheung, the communications director for Trump’s 2024 campaign, has told the media that the former president was “warmly received by everyone in the room” and “commended for his policy proposals on deregulation and tax cuts.”

The most surprising thing to me is that any business CEO would be unaware of any of this. I thought a CEO would be roughly aware of the political environment. Keeping an eye on the world around the business is an important part of longer term planning for the business.

trump's next round of business 'advisors' will have 3 bigger problems than trump's cognition during campaign functions :

a. how to legally transfer bribes he publicly/privately requests.
b. after bribes, how to keep trump's attention on what they want in return.
c. how to distance themselves from trump's other actions that lead to bad PR for their public companies.

musk may have figured it out as a leftover from round 1 ; he quit as an advisor in 2017 because trump damaged his EV agenda at a critical time when tesla was (effectively) the only game in town. today, there's a couple of billionaire donors that can fill in the rest, whom MAGA will be happy to accept as representing the economic interests of the u.s.
