Back in the day when I cared, I used to warn that due to unassimilated and unbridled immigration, watering down of American history and civics knowledge and pride, and socioeconomic degradation brought on by global trade and the digital 'service' economy (some benefits, yes)....that America would eventually stop being a nation-state.
I said part of that would be the ability of foreign enemies to exploit domestic visions and use that exploitation as nothing short of a weapon of war.
I said that America, is a 200 year old infant whereas other civilizations have either been destroyed, or hacked to pieces because of these traits. A march away from old traditions, or old gods didn't serve previous empires well. Having too many languages, too many different customs, too many citizens isolated from other demographics of citizens is what leads to things that allowed European Empires to divide, bribe, and defeat civilizations in Asia and arabia. I pointed to even more recent things like Croats and Serbs, Sunni and Shia.
Anyhow, the clueless Sheeples *still* don't get it. Funny part is that Xi, Bibi, and Vladdy get it it :) And it's not my problem any longer and I continue to cheer it on and *love* how it's actually happening now and I *love* the punishment I'm seeing! And to think this is with a good employment picture. Imagine another decade of this shit, but a few million more jobless, angry, and possibly armed. OMG as the kids say.
In 2004 I was full on Freedom Fries. I remember I had an AK tour booked for London and Paris. Mrs Jedi was a bit pissed when I begged her to let me cancel it as I didn't want to go to Paris due to geopolitics. Costed me decent deposit forfeited. Didn't care.
ANYHOW, Mrs Jedi loved the 2 Alaska trips we did so now we'll do it with the kids. I had booked it pre-Trump, round trip out of Vancouver which is a lovely place. Then I saw the Jingoistic Ugly Canadians booing our anthem. They're leaders calling for boycotts of our products and it gave me pause. But today I decided: THERE IS NO AMERICA. What I predicted, has now come true.
I could re-book and depart from Seattle or San Fran -both Liberal Culture Decayed Shit Cities. Total shit. I figured - WHY? Why go to 3rd world adjacent cities, all because I'm offended on behalf of a NON-COUNTRY, America.
I'm not big deal. 5 nights hotel and food isn't going to make Canada rich.
So yeah, I'm going. That flag waving shit is less important to me now.
America is a memory I cherish and am so nostalgic for and I'm thankful for growing up in it. But things - die. Sometimes quickly other times, slowly. As Master Yoda says about death or ending - "that is the way of things. The way of the Force"
So glad I did the financial kinky stuff in the 2000's ----avoided *so* much taxation, set up turnkey abroad, and even used the TMF boards to do some of it on the quiet :) 10% guilt 90% smiles.

That is an interesting take on something that never happened.
First, every large successful empire was always multi ethnic, multilingual, multicultural. Roman, several Persian ones, Mongol, Moghul in India.
More than division and bribes, Europeans' ability to fight a high technology war is what defeated the Asians. Muslims may have started the "gunpowder empires" but post-renaissance, Europeans took warfare to entirely new heights. Division and bribes came later, to manage the populations they needed to loot and exploit effectively. That is definitely not a European invention. Chanakya predated Machiavelli by 2000 years and advocated the same tactics to keep unruly satraps in check. I am sure so did the Romans and Persians. If anything it lengthened the longevity of their empires.
