More info, apparently Crowdstrike is to blame. They sent out a flawed update.

Which I would counter, "if you want the to talk to each other seamless, probably best to have one source...trying to mesh multiple pieces of software from multiple authors can get problematic". Of course, they aren't wrong that if Microsoft (for example) has a weakness, then
everything will have that weakness (and could fail). Or, in this case, Crowdstrike...they released an update, and it crashed a lot of the systems that used them. Can't win for losing.
