Don't ask me any questions. Do as I say!

Trump pushes back on mounting criticism about his Iran war battle plan as conflict spreads

Trump strode back into office last year on an “America First” pledge to keep the U.S. out of the sort of “forever wars” that bogged down some of his recent White House predecessors. Central to his foreign policy outlook dating to his first campaign has been his call to “abandon the failed policy of nation building and regime change.”

He echoed this call during a visit to Saudi Arabia last year, saying that “so-called ‘nation-builders’ wrecked far more nations than they built — and the interventionists were intervening in complex societies that they did not even understand themselves.”

But now Trump finds himself in a war of his own choosing that's spurring concern the U.S. could be dragged into another prolonged conflict in the Middle East.

An analyst from Brookings was on the Beeb tonight. She said the constantly shifting justifications for this war tell her there is no plan. No plan for now. No plan for later.

Trump the Perfect will know the plan, when "Bibi" tells him what it is.

The FT counts four supposed justifications within 72 hours.

Since launching his war from Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, Trump’s stated aims have lurched from the overthrow of a “bloodthirsty” regime to forcing new talks with the same government — and everything in between.

On Sunday, in a six-minute video from his Florida estate, Trump framed the conflict as an epic cultural battle, accusing Iran of having “waged war against civilisation itself”.

Because he's clueless. Sure, militarily we (and Israel) have pounded Iran. They really can't stop us. Their proxies are going to make life miserable for the foreseeable future. Regime change seems unlikely to me. Expecting ordinary Iranians to do it is unreasonable. The regime has already shown they will mow down protesters. We didn't even drop FP-45s (or similar) to support any possible resistance. So they'll get slaughtered (again) if they rise up.

He doesn't do complicated. He doesn't do nuance. He is unable to think about how things interact with each other. He has no business leading our country, nor having anything to do with foreign relations (which he has screwed up in almost every way possible).

I suspect we'll be living with the fallout from this for many years. The Felon is incapable of finding a way to peace. And even a skilled statesman like Obama probably wouldn't be able to do it.

We should have let Israel do it if they wanted. We shouldn't be involved. I was just reading about the Powell Doctrine. We figured it out (named after Colin Powell), but we don't seem to do it.

Not true!

There is indeed a plan. How much have you heard about the Trump-Epstein files this week? Look, if a few Americans have to die and vast sums of US wealth have to be squandered in order to distract from Trump's likely pedophilia, it is well worth it.

Trump the Perfect will know the plan, when "Bibi" tells him what it is.

The two probable plans, are delusional, totally delusional:

1-cram a reliable lap dog, like "Prince Reza" down Iranian's throats, expecting them to accept it.

2-go for a chaotic, failed state, like Libya, expecting the chaos to be confined within Iran's borders, rather than Iran becoming a nebula for spawning groups like AQ and ISIS, that will spread terror through the hemisphere.

...because they don't trust democratic processes, because they can't assure, ahead of time, the outcome.
