Squad member Ayanna Pressley, Dem Mass, speaking Tuesday on the House floor about Walgreens closing stores in crime ridden areas,
“These closures are not arbitrary and they are not innocent. They are life threatening acts of racial and economic discrimination. That is why I joined Senators Markey and Warren to demand answers from Walgreens CEO. Shame on you Walgreens. Shame on you.”
Can she really be that oblivious about the effects of crime on the law abiding citizens living in the district she represents?

Privately? They know their policies are responsible for trashing neighborhoods and driving up crime.
But part of being a democrat is that you’re never, ever allowed to say “my party is fundamentally wrong”. ESPECIALLY if you want any support from the progressives ever again.
The willingness to lie in public is quite Soviet-like.

Walgreens
admits it lied.
The San Francisco Chronicle
proved Walgreens lied.
A Walgreens executive said this week that the company, which cited “organized” shoplifting as a reason to close five stores in San Francisco in October 2021, might have overstated the effect of theft on its business.
“Maybe we cried too much last year,” James Kehoe, the company’s chief financial officer, said during a Walgreens earnings call with investors.
Mr. Kehoe also said that the company had “probably” spent too much on security measures and that it might have mischaracterized how much theft took place in its stores. If anyone is "Soviet-like" and liars, it's Walgreens and the Trump cult.

OK. However, there are likely more crime related factors involved than just shoplifting loses, eg employee safety, liability for employee safety, hiring and retention especially for night shifts, customer traffic down due to safety concerns.
Being a rapacious corporation, Walgreens would most likely prefer to keep the stores open if they could safely make a profit.
Do you honestly agree with the nutty squad woman that Walgreens executives were setting around one day discussing how to keep them uppity blacks from getting more uppity, when one of them proposes, "Hey let's close some stores in their neighborhoods", the assembled executives cheer their approval chanting in unison, "Yeah, that'll remind them darkies who is running things".

Well, you have to admit the Dems do run a tight ship. I can even admire their discipline and ruthlessness. It is no wonder that for years, they were largely out maneuvering the republicans at every opportunity.
I think those times are changing, not so much due to the epiphany of the old fossil RINO's who have been running the party for decades. But rather the transition of power within the party to a new breed of Republican, younger, more energetic, and most of all, willing to fight for conservative principles.

Will Rogers once said 'I don't belong to any organized political party; I'm a Democrat.'
It's the Republicans who for decades would fall in line when told to do so. It's really only recently that a vocal faction isn't doing that reliably. Dems are still all over the place, like herding cats.

LOL. I find it amusing that we both think our own party is chaotic but the other guy's party is cohesive.
All kidding aside, I think the republicans need to be shaken up, the old dusty fossils running the party right now have to give way to, s Vivek called it, "Fresh Legs".
I think I may live long enough to see Vivek get his turn at bat, I think he would be awesome. Even though he was out early, I think he did a better job than any of the rest in articulating his ideas and most of all projected a message of unity and pride in our country.

Poorer neighborhoods are not where you make your money in Pharma. WBA is starting to report higher earnings and one of the things retailers do is cut the lower profit stores in poorer neighborhoods and look for middle class neighborhoods. It's normal to cut these stores, and it always has bad effects on the neighborhoods when they leave.

Plus this from the SF Chron article you linked,
Data released by the San Francisco Police Department in October 2021 did not support Walgreens’ claim that unchecked theft had forced it to close five stores.
============================
Now for some analysis,
The whining squad member is a dem congresswoman from MA. The two senators she will enlist for help are both of the MA senators, both democrats. And her whining occurred this week when the closing of the fourth Walgreens in Boston was announced.
Take note, Four stores, in Boston, in Jan 2024.
Now for your "rebuttal",
The SF Chron article you linked analyzed data released by the San Francisco Police Department in October 2021 and concluded that data did not support Walgreens’ claim that unchecked theft had forced it to close five stores.
Take note, Five Stores, in San Fran, data analyzed was released in Oct 2021.
So, unless there is a Delorean available with a working flux capacitor, I don't see how the 2021 study could lend any support for the 2024 accusations by Squad member Ayanna Pressley.

Fight for 'conservative' principles???
CP's? You mean, like follow the law? Enforce the law? Punish those who are unable to follow the law???
It's all just conceptual, we know, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading it somewhere not that long ago... I'll have to do some reviewing!
If we let things 'progress' along the lines of recent events, it doesn't take any deep sooth saying to point out that there just might be an eruption of lethal force in play. Once started, it'll be difficult to stop.

OMFG this has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen on these boards. Even going back to TMF boards.
The best form of humor is unintentional irony.
A cult member, and a huge supporter of Trump, accusing Democrats of being unable to say their party is fundamentally wrong and of lying in public.
How can someone lack that much self-awareness?
