CJ is our yard guy and has been for over a decade.
A good guy- hard worker, a year or two years away from retirement, and he’s been a Trumper, at least until recently.
Two years ago, he said Trump was for “the little guy”, but today he was singing a different tune.
“Yard guy”- think hundreds of gallons of no alcohol gasoline a year…… at the moment, he’s buying bags of fertilizer to put down on spring lawns, and he’s just emerged from a winter of repairing all of his equipment- mowers, blowers, edgers, weed eaters, chain saws…… with tariff enhanced parts.
He came over this morning. I poured coffee and my wife and I sat down with him with an eye to outlining some of the things we’d like done this year.
I’ve never heard a mean word cross his lips, but this morning, my wife and I spent a lot of time just listening, and what poured from his heart was a litany of the betrayal he felt at the hands of the guy who said he was for “the little guy”.
And it wasn’t just him. Many of his friends, some of them owning small businesses that have gone under or are hurting, feel the same.
My wife and I didn’t do much talking, except to share our thoughts about the yard. But it’s good to see a guy come to his own conclusions and to know he’s not the only one.

A "JC" lied, to get what he wanted from your lawn guy, at that moment? What a shock. /sarcasm
It only matters if there are 'free and fair" elections this fall. His latest decree, that only people on the *Federal* voter registration list have the option of voting absentee will probably disqualify everyone in states that refuse to hand over *all* their voter information.

I have a dear friend who's been my sailing buddy for twenty years. He's been a dedicated Trumper, voted for him every time since the 2016 primaries. I told him back then that Trump is dangerous, that he should vote for anyone but Trump in the primaries. But we rarely talk politics because it's too divisive personally. Last week he opened up and said that Trump is awful, that he hopes Trump dies before his term is over. I said, good, now I don't have to scream at you any more. :-)
