" The coronavirus pandemic claimed many lives. According to data from mid-2023, as many as 7 million people might have died from COVID-19. It is widely believed that the virus first appeared in November 2019 at a food market in Wuhan, China, and within a few months, it reached Europe and North America. Many countries resorted to lockdowns in fear of the pandemic's spread. Vaccines became the salvation.
According to the New York Post, the National Institutes of Health earned at least $710 million in royalties. These earnings came from payments made by private companies, such as pharmaceutical firms, to license medical innovations. This only pertains to the period from the end of 2021 to 2023.

Almost the entire amount, $690 million, went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci and 260 of his scientists. The portal notes that during the pandemic, there was more than a twofold increase in the flow of money from the NIH to the private sector, amounting to as much as $1 billion."

Bilking the SHEEPLE out of money, life, and time is no biggie.

Paying a broad not to tell that you guys boned - - that's the crime.

The Fauci thing is typical of the White Liberal 401K Corporatist Academic Establishment.

Hopefully the day when people get angry and desperate enough - they go for accuracy and not quantity.

(I speak of writing letters to Congress, of course and my hope is I can inspire a few letters. I actively do that where I can and I relish it)

hclasvegas: Almost the entire amount, $690 million, went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci and 260 of his scientists.

And when asked today how much of that $690 million went into his pocket, Dr. Fauci said zero. He said he receives a little over $100 a year for a patent he filed 25 years ago that evidently was used during the development of the vaccines but that, obviously, pre-date the pandemic.

Dr. Fauci also said he never used personal email for government business, never deleted work-related emails, and that he and his family constantly receive death threats:

Anthony Fauci, addressing the House subcommittee, detailed the threats and harassment that he and his family received during his time as the director of the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases.

Fauci said he had experienced “everything from harassments from emails, texts, letters of myself, my wife, my three daughters”, as well as “credible death threats” that meant “someone who clearly was on their way to kill me”, adding that he still gets death threats today. He said: “It is very troublesome to me, it is much more troublesome because they involve my wife and my three daughters.”

MAGAts.

In short, republicans spent 15 months reading Dr. Fauci's emails, Slack messages and research proposals, poured over a half a million pages of documents and conducted more than 100 hours of closed-door testimony and got nothing except confirmation that Dr. Fauci dedicated his entire life to making people healthier and to saving lives.

Oh wait, the committee did confirm that Marjorie Taylor Greene is an asshat.

When she refused to address him as "Dr. Fauci" and referred to him as "Mr. Fauci," GOP Chairman Brad Wenstrup reprimanded her and told her to stop.

adding that he still gets death threats today.

I watched the beginning but after the introductory pleasantries from the chairman, it quickly devolved into evidence free partisan attacks.

Also, before it got started, while people were still getting settled, I heard someone - presumably from one of the auditors - say "You killed my grandfather!"

For those who don't need a cookie a nap, it would make sense that funding from the NIH to the private sector would increase during a pandemic. Just like it would make sense that funding from the Dept. of Defense to the private sector would increase during a major war.

DUCY?

Empty G comes through once again as one of the nastiest and stupidest of a really awful bunch of GOP congress critters.

Greene then asked him a question ending him as “Mister Fauci.” She added, “You’re not Doctor. You’re Mister Fauci in these few minutes.”

She then called for his license to be revoked and that he should “be in prison!”

She is such an idiot.
