The past week plus I have been on a really, long road trip mostly through Trump country. It was a mixture of visiting some friends and family and moving some items that people did not want to be shipped commercially. It consisted of starting in Chicago, going through southern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Arkansas, back to southern Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, northern and west Texas, New Mexico, rural northern Arizona, and finally rural Nevada.
The most notable thing was the lack of Trump signage.
Now some will say that is because Trump isn't running for election right now. While that is true, it did not matter in the past. As someone who has regularly driven around the country for years, I can attest that during Trump's first term and during Biden's term, a six-hour drive through Trump country a person would see dozens (if not hundreds) of Trump bumper stickers, Trump flags, Trump signs and what not. They would be on cars, front lawns, in windows (residential and commercial). Heck, lots of farmers put up a series of mini signs (like the old Burma shave signs) in their fields along the side of road.
Now there is none of it.
The first couple of days I didn't realize it and therefore didn't notice it. Then once I became aware, I started looking for them and they have become really hard to find. At most I would see one or two per day.
Not only has Trump lost supporters as polls show, I think there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm among people who still support him.

This lines up with my observations traveling through most of the states you mentioned.
Also- your conclusion regarding the lack of enthusiasm among those who still support him.
He still has a rabid base, but that has shrunk considerably.

by removing signs, they seem to be primarily avoiding accountability in the same tradition of their idol.
sorry if i dont share the belief that the 10s of millions that demonstrated their cognitive capabilities by voting for trump wont fall for 2028 gop candidates at all levels. at best, they may not turn out for midterms.
even chuck schumer has a deluded reality :
"Here’s my hope … after this election, when the Republican Party expels the turd of Donald Trump, it will go back to being the old Republican Party...”
the lies of the trump gop are the same lies of the old gop :
- fiscal conservatism
- longterm business and trade friendly
- family values
- pro-tech but anti-stem when conflicts with religious superstitions
- effective immigration
...
i have no doubt MAGA or not, they will all be taken in again. any pretty much every foreign nation assumes a durable chance for decades to come.

The signage is probably no longer being produced. He will be "President for life", so no need for campaign materials anymore.
Besides, God on Earth Trump, has moved on from taking nickles and dimes for signage, to taking multi-billion dollar bribes.

There does seem to be a breaking with Trump going on, and the most visible sign to me is that in CCW on reddit there are 2nd amendment proponents speaking out against Trump's positions on guns at protests, etc., and voicing times in the past when he's gone against 2A, and that he can't be trusted, he'll flip again. Some articles on the 2A talk about the effect of 2A voters not voting and how that will change things. The movement away from Trump is most visible there to me.

Yup.
But Steve’s point is also “on point”.
Trump may believe he no longer needs that archaic remnant of democracy known as “voters”.

Trump may believe he no longer needs that archaic remnant of democracy known as “voters”.Remember: Trump told his right wing Christian supporters to please vote for him and they would never have to vote again.
Christians get out and vote just this time you won't have to do it anymore, four more years you know what it'll be fixed, it'll be fine.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTm0du4kUH0&t=10sWall Street Journal

There are indications he's going to try. Declare an emergency and seize voting machines under the Insurrection Act. Why? Foreign interference. Why use the DNI as part of the Georgia raid? He's already tried once, what's one more?
