I believe a lawyer tactic is to throw so much as the opposition in "discovery", that they can't effectively sift through it all.

Seems the same thing here. We have multiple outrages all at once (ICE, Greenland, bombing civilian boats, etc), and then they dump over 1M pages on Epstein. I'm thinking they're counting on it getting lost in the fray until the Felon is dead and buried, at which point it won't matter to him.
