...and the available tankers to bring oil from the US (as well as the ability to receive it) is probably logistically challenged.

Well, the US could, I suppose, use the several tankers it seized over the last couple months. How many was it, about eight? iirc, they grabbed three in the Indian Ocean, one off Scotland, and the rest in the Caribbean. They are all old. I read the US was being approached by ship breakers wanting to bid on the old tubs. But, if tanker rates get high enough?
