Like many ethnic, racial, or religious minorities, Jews have historically been subject to certain prejudicial attitudes and beliefs. One of the prejudices about Jews is the assumption that they have dual or incomplete loyalties to their country.

Jack Kennedy and Mitt Romney both faced religious bigotry. Seems we have finally overcome suspicion of Catholics. I don't recall Biden making a speech to assure people he would not be running the country according to dictate from the Pope.

As for asking questions about a candidate's past experiences, we old phartz remember Tom Eagleton's shock therapy sessions coming to light. Shapiro has had a much more intimate experience with Israel than the vast majority of USians. Why is it inappropriate to ask him about his connections to Israel, when it's open season on Walz or Biden connections to China, or Biden connections to Ukraine?
