Venezuela opposition leader María Corina Machado calls for full privatization of oil industry

“The Venezuelan state will get out of the way and pave the way to give the conditions so that the oil and gas sector in Venezuela will go fully private,” Machado said at S&P Global’s CERAWeek conference in Houston, Texas.

Translation: If I am elected, I will sign PDVSA over to Trump, and USian oil companies, on wildly favorable terms.

I'll give it to Machado. She is pushing the right buttons. Handing her Nobel over to Trump the God, and offering PDVSA as a bribe.

Thing is, Rodríguez can do that now, with an authoritarian stroke of a pen. Why should Trump the Conqueror wait for an election, and take the risk that his front person might lose?

She's just trying to get him not to interfere in the election, on the promise that he'll get his bribe no matter who wins.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez preached of lucrative long-term opportunities in her resource-rich country at a Saudi-backed investment summit on Wednesday, offering a window into how Venezuela’s government is trying to lure investors to its oil sector.

Addressing the Miami summit from Venezuela, Rodríguez presented a reformed industry — one that has opened up to private capital, international arbitration and scrutiny in the less than three months since the U.S. military captured her predecessor, Nicolás Maduro, and the White House began implementing a phased plan to turn the troubled country around.

Trump the Conqueror's "wins" in Venezuela and Panama were due to him finding someone he could bribe. He is apparently having trouble finding someone corrupt enough in Cuba or Iran.
