Good morning AdrianC, I have a hunch that you like me were a big fan of the TV show Mission Impossible.

Your mission this morning, should you agree to accept it :) is this,

What is the largest holding in XLF?

Which of the top ten holdings in that ETF do not offer a dividend?

While I am at the park you and the others who wish to participate have three hours to solve this riddle.

I got my buyback reinstituted I only have one mission left and then, I'm done, complaining, maybe!!

ucmtsu, thank you, partner.

“What is the largest holding in XLF?”
What is Berkshire Hathaway?

“Which of the top ten holdings in that ETF do not offer a dividend?”
What is Berkshire Hathaway?

Did you listen to Greg on CNBC?
If you did you’d know why you’re wasting your breath.

Your case for a dividend is it would “increase demand for the common”.

If we want Berkshire to spend a significant amount on a buyback we absolutely DO NOT want to “increase demand for the common”. We want demand to be low so Berkshire can buy it cheap.

Plus, initiating a dividend is an admission that Berkshire can no longer create more than a dollar of market value for each dollar retained.

Ah, but we’ve said all this before…

“Stay healthy bud so we can spend the proceeds and tell each other, how we spent it.”

You too, buddy. I certainly got to start spending. If I don’t my kids will.
