well I think I can safely say they have pulled off a series of miracles ! Montpellier is world renowned and now has the most internist applicants in all of europe ! Recovery is necessarily slow (age + number of hospitalizations) but i am making sure and steady progress.
what a life you had ! yes, the accents are mad and varied, and I love it here ! If only I could sell my property in TX but it will happen at some point... market is dead there !
I cab walk to everything I need and get all my shopping , lovely food and wine, whats not to like ? meantime I have been having a series of small projects done in my garden and will have the pool opened end of this month ! looking forward to that !
I know this area, on and off since 40 years and despite the coastal tourism it has maintained its spirit and way of life. A much more human scale and way of life than I have experienced latterly in the USA sad to say. People jusy eyeroll over Trump and the gang for the most part here and are extremely well informed. Sadly, like Uk and Brexit, there is a vocal and active right wing everywhere in europe. I see the same messaging and problem framing and even phraseology as in the USA surfacing here and it's no accident either. its been going on for about 10 years. I am in hopes that the Iran "war" has opened a lot of eyes that sadly remained shut up to and including the Epstein files. we shall see....
