Seven of the nine men who have thrown their hats into the ring to become Speaker of the House voted against certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election. Only Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota and Austin Scott of Georgia voted to certify the 2020 election. Before you think Emmer and Scott are somehow moderates who believe in democracy, "when Texas filed a lawsuit, urging the U.S. Supreme Court to help overturn Donald Trump's defeat, both Emmer and Scott were among the many House Republicans who signed onto a ridiculous legal brief endorsing the indefensible gambit."

None of the nine voted to impeach Trump (for inciting insurrection).

None of the nine voted to establish a January 6 commission.

None of the nine voted to ban wage discrimination on the basis of sex.

None of the nine voted in favor of the bipartisan Infrastructure Act.

Only Emmer voted for the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Only Sessions voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.

Only Meuser voted to cap out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35/month.

Only Bergman, Donalds, and Meuser voted to expand healthcare for veterans exposed to toxins.

None of the nine voted in favor of the bipartisan gun safety legislation.

None of the nine voted to ensure the right to contraception.

None of the nine voted for the CHIPS & Science Act.

Only Emmer voted to federally codify same-sex and interracial marriage.

Bergman, Emmer, Scott, and Sessions voted for $300 million in supplemental aid to Ukraine (on Sept 28).

On the bright side: at least they're not Jordan.

1.)Denying Results.

2.)Impeaching the other guy.


And it's so deserved. I hope it gets worse, and I know it will. I can't wait till you need UN peacekeepers escorting voters to polling places.

A few Democrat Representatives objected to the 2004 and 2016 election results (31 out of 199). The majority of Republican Representatives voted for the 2020 objection (138 out of 211), some out of fear for the safety of their families.

Democrat Representatives will vote against any known election denier becoming Speaker. Democrats would vote for a Republican Speaker if given some concessions. But the Republicans should be able to do this on their own, and compromise is punished by the MAGA extremists.
