Jim Lanzone, CEO of Yahoo:

Has A.I. created any management challenges?

I think it has created a form of A.I. slop, where employees are now producing almost too much content — like a deck that used to be 10 pages, now has 35 pages.

And people can’t keep up with all the reading. You almost need A.I. to summarize a deck back down.

What can you do about that?

We’re going to have to create a culture of respecting people’s time. It will require a new form of empathy for your teammates, including your boss.

Good morning bud, why would a guy with your level of investing expertise have any interest in what Ray Dalio has to say?

Let's debate the 1999 letter, THATS a productive use of our time! Thank you, ::))

My level of investing expertise is down with the baby grasshoppers. I can use Google, though.

Do you mean the Ray Dalio who made famous the "All Weather Portfolio"?

https://testfol.io/?s=2gYmvR2lzic
CAGR 1996-05-09 to now:
7.38% Ray Dalio All Weather Portfolio
10.02% SPY
10.78% BRK-B

https://testfol.io/?s=iJ6yGVwo56r
CAGR 2000-01-01 to now (about when the 1999 letter came out):
6.74% Ray Dalio All Weather Portfolio
8.08% SPY
11.55% BRK-B

I'd have a third less money if I'd done the Ray Dalio All Weather Portfolio in 2000.

I know, I know, Bridgewater did far, far better than that.
How did they do that? Does anyone know? Could you invest in it back in 2000? Can you invest in it now?

Still, I will read about him. Sounds like an interesting old dude. I see he did the giving pledge, very cool.

You mean like Buffett T and T he didn't beat the index? Go figure.

Buffett didn’t beat the index?

6.74% Ray Dalio All Weather Portfolio
8.08% SPY
11.55% BRK-B

Hmmm.

It’s apples to oranges, of course. Dalio isn’t trying to “beat the index” with this risk-parity portfolio. Still, I’d be kicking myself if I had invested in it instead of Buffett/Berkshire 26 years ago.

Good morning partner, you stopped quoting ancient history, aka, the letter from 1999, and the entire site crashed! :)

Bro, you are confusing brkbs stock price and capital allocation results.

During the year 2000 brkb traded at 1.1 XS BV, remind us, other than ME who else was pounding the table to buyback brkb in 2000-2006? Today the stock trades at 1.5ish xs BV. How much of brkbs current stock price is a result of it trading at 1.5 xs BV vs 1.1 XS BV?

This indicates brilliant capital allocation the past 13 years, aka, the T and T years, to you?

Thank you, while you ponder this conundrum, I'll be at the park, looking forward to your response, it's starting to get hot in Vegas pal gotta play early.

Do the dancing girls take capital allocation results now? I was not aware. Been awhile since I was in Las Vegas :-)
