(Somebody will be along shortly to whine that Sinclair is a right wing fascist propaganda mill, but nobody cares).

Don't want you hanging in suspense. :)

Remember the supercut of local news actors, reading a mandatory script, provided by Sinclair, leveraging Trump's "fake news" narrative?

Not surprisingly, Sinclair was the second station owner to demand Kimmel be suspended, and not allowed back on the air, until he apologized, and a big donation made to Kirk's "Turning Profit" organization.

For years, Sinclair has been pushing to be allowed to shut down local "news" operations, and feed all the news from a central location, where it is easier for management to control the content. Sinclair has also been pushing against regs that limit how many stations a single company can own in a single market. Of course, this all depends on the good will of the FCC

From 2017:

On Oct. 24, the FCC voted to eliminate a rule requiring TV stations to maintain local studios in the markets where they are licensed. Without this rule, local news production will likely move to centralized studios in New York and Washington as larger networks purchase local stations.

The FCC will also vote on eliminating two cross-ownership bans at its November meeting. The bans in question prohibit the same company from owning any combination of a television station, radio station, or newspaper in a single market; owning multiple television broadcasters if there are fewer than eight independently-owned stations in a given market; and owning multiple top-four stations in a single market. The FCC is expected to eliminate the bans and accommodate the trend toward media consolidation by a handful of players, including Sinclair.

Just think. 28 channels, and they are all Sinclair No more worrying about which station is telling the truth, because they all say the same thing.

Steve...all encompassing,"big gummit" is now good. who would have thought?
