It wasn't that long ago, that I wondered when the Catholics would realize they are only being used to help get rid of all the "others", before they were up for the chop.
It's happening faster than I anticipated.
The net sifter says some 56-61% of white Catholics voted for Trump.
According to the net sifter, only about 25% of the US population is both white and Protestant. Not going to be many people left, after *all* the "others" have been gotten rid of.
Probably twenty years ago, when Bush #43, himself supposedly a certifiable religious nut, was POTUS, I heard two reports on the national "news", each delivered with the near hysteria that is now routine: 1: Protestants are on trend to be less than half the population, and 2: that white people are on trend to be less than half the population. Who but a Fox News/MAGA bigot would care about those two bits?
Fortunately, I can truthfully say I was raised in a Baptist lodge.

That should pass muster with the theocracy. What surprised me, when I looked it up, is the congregation dissolved last summer. I can't find any reason why. The building they moved to on Mt Olivet Rd looks tiny, compared to the building where I attended. There are only 40 spaces in the parking lot. The old building, on S Westnedge at Lovell, had no parking. Many Sundays we were parked about two blocks down Lovell St. I just looked at the old building. It has been added on to, nearly double the size now, with parking for 150 cars. The church in there now calls itself "Faith Temple Church of God", a primarily African American, Pentecostal, church, which bought the building from Bethel Baptist in 2014.
