Yes. A big, beautiful recession...the best recession ever. No one will have seen a recession like this one.

Yes. Economic activity can grind to a halt because of many reasons, tariffs is one, but uncertainty is a big another. How is a CEO supposed to make long-term plans when we don't know what will happen tomorrow? nobody is building factories in US right now, and all the imports are going to be more costly by at least 10% and many of them 145%. Very hard to see how that does not cause a stagflation, which is recession and inflation at the same time, to inflict maximum pain on Americans.

totally anecdotal, but everybody I am in contact with has either cut back on spending, or say they
will soon. How could anybody expect any other response to the chaos machine that is Trump ?
And if you are a CEO trying to allocate cap ex, what in the hell do you do in this
flippant, chaotic turmoil mess that Trump has caused ?

I really think Trump has become too mentally challenged to do much of anything beyond effectuating the plans of all the Project 2025 alums he has surrounded himself with. Trump's not running the show anymore. They are.

I suppose DOGE is still at work sowing chaos in the government, but I haven't been seeing as much of Elon lately.
