He left Microsoft board because he broke company code with having an affair with a female staffer. I thought this was well known

And, IIRC, some allegations of having made inappropriate advances (communications) towards some other female staff, which is a bit worse.
That's a bad thing, assuming it's true.

However I don't assume deep evil in someone who takes a few meetings with someone who later turns out to have been a horrible criminal. Perhaps because it has happened to me and I don't feel deeply evil.
