So I've been hearing more about this lately. Apparently, the black plastic utensils are -allegedly- hazardous because of how they are made (e.g. PFAS, sometimes heavy metals, etc). Made worse when they come into contact with hot things (food, skillets, etc).

This is just one link. There are several more out there, though many are blogs, food sites, or other non-health sites. I prefer actual studies.

Obviously, this is problematic for non-stick cookware. As a precaution, we have switched to our wooden utensils exclusively (we have wood, metal, and plastic for different purposes). I'm wondering if the data is solid enough to warrant tossing all the black plastics. I'm not aware of any government banning these things. The EU is usually ahead of us on this sort of thing.
