Iran has more that triple the population of Iraq, and mountainous terrain that made the war in Afghanistan unwinnable for both the Soviets and the US. Iranians may have no more love for the Mullahs than Iraqis did for Saddam, but "Bibi", and his sock puppet, Trump the Terrible, imposing a Quisling on them would never go over.

Steve---- I understand that John Q Public in Iran has no love for Mullahs.
They are actually intelligent, warm, wonderful people.
Better family values than Americans in some ways. (not hard to do - lol)
Trouble is we had NO turn-key interim government ready to go ----so even if Ayotollahs fall ----their tribes will fight each other. Sort of like our Blue and Red and the other sub-tastes will be here, when you people compete your journey to being third world cave dwelling tribes.
Also remember, America isn't the most reliable ally.

I don't think *any* government imposed by the US, or Israel, would be acceptable to the Iranian people, including one headed by "Reza the Stooge". Cramming Reza down there throat would almost guarantee another revolution, because Reza would probably want to govern the way his father and luminaries like Trump the Magnificent govern.
