INDPRO ind Mon Mar 16 05:11:40 PM CDT 2026 YOY: 1.44%
RRSFS rrs Fri Mar 6 05:11:28 PM CST 2026 YOY: 0.75%

Both FRED indicators are up YOY, thus disconfirming recession, so a SMA sell signal should be ignored.

I’d say you’re looking in the rear view mirror while driving off a cliff at 100mph.

I'd say that going safe to at least a skeleton of full allocation was timely.

Is this the Mechanical Investing board or the Emotional Investing board?

Do we give any credence to rule-based mechanical backtests or not?

Mechanical or Emotional?

Working on trying to be mechanical!

But your citing Philosophical Economics GTT which is only one of many strategies.

I just looked over the recommendations of Allocate Smartly’s backtested strategies that have the best safe withdrawal rates. None of them suggest you should be risk on more than 25% US equities.

I do but we are at war with a well known sponser of terrorism and must take that risk into account.

You do you. There are many other economic indicators that are flashing bright red. The ones you quoted are positive, YOY, by a whisker. Wait a month, if you wish, and they’ll change. And besides, I don’t think the 200 day sma has triggered yet.
