The Orlando Sentinel published a two-page print spread Thursday listing 673 books that have been removed from classrooms in Orange County in 2023, including John Steinbeck’s "East of Eden," John Milton's "Paradise Lost," Toni Morrison’s "Beloved," "The Bluest Eye," and "Song of Solomon," and Betty Smith’s “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.” Also banned are "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., "The Handmaid’s Tale" by Margaret Atwood, "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, "Kindred" by Octavia E. Butler, and "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac.

Bridget Ziegler is a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, the right-wing advocacy and anti-L.G.B.T.Q. group. Why is it that the most outspoken, hateful opponents of same-sex relationships -- are republican women having gay sex, like Ziegler, or republican men sexually assaulting other men, like Matt Schlapp?
