I like NWL’s brands (Sharpie, Elmer's glue, Rubbermaid, etc.), so I’ve been following the stock for years, but I don’t own any. Ever since they bought Jarden in 2016, it’s been a disaster. $16 billion company now worth $6 billion. The company is solvent, but all cash flow is going to pay off debt. It will take 10 years to pay it off. I don’t know if either of us will be around by then lol.
ROE is dropping. Tariffs are killing them. Can’t own it; can’t short it. Anyone else following?

Agree. I’ve been watching it off and on for the last ten years or so (ever since I noticed most things rolling down hospital corridors - from mop pails to nurses’ consoles to pharmacy carts - were Rubbermaid-branded. Add in all the storage bins being wheeled out of Costco or Home Depot every time I go, and a collection of drying-out Sharpies in every conference room - it seems like it should be a tamper-resistant business.
It think of it as the prototype of a company that should be doing better than it is. Poor financial mgmt and C-suite discord seem to have been the issues.
