For others in a lower net worth bracket, you are tying up lots of cash to secure those far out of the money puts you are short, for a very low return. IF, you are using aggressive margin, you are tying up less cash but, for younger investors, not a great way to build wealth long term. The good news is the cash securing the short puts is now earning 5 % plus. BTW, in over 50 years in this game, being short puts on margin, is one of best ways to get into serious financial trouble, or worse.
