I'm not ready to draw a conclusion on this year versus 2024 measles cases, but there were a total of 285 cases in 2024 and already 93 in the first two months of 2025. If that rate keeps up we'd double 2024 cases.

Measles is potentially worse than COVID. Highly contagious, and without a vaccine, potentially fatal. I did a quick check, and the mortality rate prior to vaccines was about %5 for the affluent, and about 20-30% for more impoverished areas.

COVID was about 4%.

And you know the Felon and worm-brain won't take any measures (like closing schools), so it has the potential to spread like wildfire. We do have the advantage that the MMR exists, where during COVID, we didn't have a vaccine at all during the first year or so. But worm-brain doesn't believe in vaccines.

Yah, my family got the measles as kids, and I remember my father sending my sisters over to spend the night with someone who had the German measles. Per memory getting German measles (rubella) when you're pregnant there's a risk the fetus can get permanent damage or die, so catchi= it when not pregnant. I don't think they caught it though.

My advice for all the libs on the board is as follows:

I think we are going to find out how deadly bird flu can be once it transfers to humans. I remember reading about one fellow in Spain who had been hospitalized and isolated for periods for having reoccurring Covid. They finally analyzed multiple blood samples and found over 20 different variants of Covid within him. Some people are incubation pots for different strains.

All board libs should do the opposite of this post. Here’s the secrets to longevity:

1. Lift heavy things. Get someone to teach you a modified version of Arnold’s Golden Six:
-Squat
-Deadlift
-Bench (not wide grip)
-Bent over row
-overhead press
-Pull-up

Those hit the vast majority of big muscle groups in solid, compound movements. Supplement with grip training and other groups like biceps, triceps, hamstrings, etc.

2. Get your VO2Max over 40. Mine admittedly is only 42 running/cycling and could be better.

3. Learn how to Asian Squat and sit in that pose for a couple of minutes a day.

4. Do some basic agility stuff. Simple movements on the floor to work your joints and improve your mobility and balance. GMB fitness is the OG there.

5. Take stuff to keep inflammation down like blueberries or ginger. It’ll help with workout recovery and help keep upper respiratory bugs at bay.

That’s not the whole list, but it’s a great start.

Go get every shot you can.

I wore a mask while out from the last week of January until two weeks ago and limited my exposure to crowds as much as possible... because I have been undergoing chemotherapy and wanted the best defense against even mild viral infections while immunocompromised and under treatment. Getting a cold or flu or covid could have seriously upset my cancer treatment. Now that round six, my last round of chemo, is behind me I no longer wear a mask despite still being immunocompromised.

And I don't understand this silly criticism of people wearing a mask while driving (presumably the criticism refers to them driving while alone in the car). Whenever I did so it was because I was making multiple stops and it was far easier to leave the mask on than to keep putting it on and taking it off at every stop (especially with masks that were not the ear-loop variety).

As far as boosters are concerned, they were developed to protect against new and emerging variants of the virus and it's perfectly logical for people with comorbidities to want to be as fully protected as possible.

Or, at the very least, what other people decide to do with respect to masking is none of your business, you haven't a single clue about the health issues or diseases others wearing masks have and are currently battling, and you can pretty much go fcuk yourself, you giant asshat.

I have to say I tried to explain why masks are a good thing during Covid to my Republican friends, but they just didn't get it. Maybe because they are Christian and things are black and white, never grey. I tried explaining the math, that even with cloth masks, roughly 50% of the droplets are stopped so it's less viral load, which helps your body fight it better and so on. I might as well be talking my first language which is not English, because they looked at me like I was a pinko liberal Commie anti-American anti-free-speech.

Real MDs are going to advise you on which ones you can take together and that you have to wait at least two weeks before you can take another shot. But you don't need to redo all your childhood vaccines unless there's advice on some, or your immune system is compromised, etc.

For MAGA a 55 gallon barrel of Ivermectin is ideal. No need for any health insurance, your God given immune system is plenty.

My wife finally stopped requiring I wear a mask all the time after we;d been in the USA for a month. I had the light K 95 ones from Korea. Whenever we went inside when we were out I had to wear one. Then, when we got to Florida, she stopped requiring I wear them inside. I asked the Uber driver why he wore one the other day and he said company policy, that's the excuse I'ma gonna usa froma nowa ona. Then point to my wife. :)

Really. She used to wear an N95, a K95 over the N95, and a Filipina celebrity copper mesh mask over the top of that when she went to the market/stores in town in Dumaguette. And she'd drive me nuts pestering me about my mask.

good morning, just an observation from an American. In the past 60 days I had to visit a dermatologist, my heart doc, my orthopedic surgeon, and the dentist. Not one office requires or suggests masks, unlike several years ago. Tell your wife those are the facts. Obviously, the dentist and the hygienist wear a mask.

Dear expert, in my community respiratory illnesses are running rampant again. Vegas gets visitors from around the globe so there is no telling what illnesses tourists might bring to town from around the globe. We are also being warned that a new potent strain of covid is hitting the country. I'm surprised that receptionists, health care workers, patients in waiting rooms, doctors etc are all mask free around sick patients. Someone who is fairly stupid might conclude that the medical community has colluded that masks aren't that effective but who knows. Stay healthy bud, bye bye.
