The “Republicans pounce” style of covering up democrat malfeasance has always been lame, but the AP takes it to an art form here:

When you live by the rules of DEI, then no other rules of decency apply as…they’re all racist somehow. Therefore, anything goes.

It’s the ultimate corollary of Alinksy: Make the other side live up to its own rules. That corollary is of course that none of those rules apply to you.
