The Daily Mail? You've gotta be kidding me. That's like using the Bible to fact-check Nature.

Plus, the story -even if correct-, and your extension of it, is a logical fallacy.

Are you sure you have a PhD? You don't seem to know how to evaluate data and evidence, and draw reasonable conclusions. Perhaps I should rephrase, and ask if it is a PhD in a technical field. A PhD in poly-sci or English lit is very different than a hard-science degree. Hard science is generally much more rigorous in terms of acceptable data and drawing conclusions.
