He was awesome. Intelligent, well read, knew the Bible, and some Quran. He destroyed every debate opponent he faced.
I have some favorite talks and debates of his. He did a great discussion with Sam Harris, David Wolpe, and another Rabbi I can't remember the name of. Probably the best talk I ever heard. Very civil, very informational.

True. I like Sam Harris and Jerry Coyne. Both are supporters of Israel which makes them toxic in some circles - not me. Harris is a prominent critic of Islam, which some confuse with racism.
I especially think Harris does a good job getting to the root of the Israel and Islamist issues.
