“New York Times Loses It Because Trump Administration Acknowledges Christ on Christmas”

SNIP
“The Trump administration made a point of acknowledging the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas, and the New York Times wasn’t having it. In an article entitled, “Trump Administration Emphasizes Religion in Official Christmas Messages,” the Times wanted its readers to know that once again the Trump administration is the worst, this time because people in government did not avoid “overtly religious language, as the Constitution prohibits the establishment of an official state religion.”

SNIP
“The Times, which consistently takes a “freedom FROM religion” approach except when that religion is the LGBTQ dogma or Islam, had to work to ignore the part in the Declaration of Independence that says our rights come from God. Further, the Constitution, while never mentioning a deity by name, is built on the premise that our rights are not given to us by government – only that they exist and cannot be taken away. The implication is what’s clearly stated in the Declaration that our rights come from God and cannot be taken away by man.”

“Why is the left so terrified of a man who lived 2000 years ago, whose teachings of love and forgiveness were the first of any “religion” of the time, or previous?”

LurkerMom: “Why is the left so terrified of a man who lived 2000 years ago, whose teachings of love and forgiveness were the first of any “religion” of the time, or previous?”

Well, yeah, sure, I clearly remember Christ's homily: drop bombs on Nigeria and kill people to celebrate my birth.

WTF is wrong with you people?

The department of Homeland Security posted the message: “We are blessed to share a nation and a Savior.”

Umm, no. We do not share a nation and a savior, we are a secular nation.

Why are so many "Christians" so opposed to the teachings of the man claim as their savior. I think it is because it is easier to worship him than to follow his instructions. They are fans of Jesus not followers of Jesus.

When self-proclaimed MAGA "christians" become more widely recognized for their defense of a convicted felon, rapist and child abuser than for their compassion toward the poor,
the immigrants, the marginalized, and the oppressed, it becomes clear they are following someone other than Jesus and that they have much repentance to consider.

Matthew 25:40...
(verses 31–46): The Son of Man separates people like a shepherd separates sheep from goats, rewarding those who fed the hungry, welcomed strangers, clothed the naked,
and visited the sick and prisoners, and condemning those who failed to act, teaching that serving “the least of these” is serving Christ himself.
Does that sound like you MAGA?

Maybe they are reinventing Christianity in something more Nietzsche-like:

The idea that Christianity is a "slave religion" originates primarily with the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who, in works like On the Genealogy of Morality, described Christianity as embodying "slave morality"—a system where the weak, out of resentment, invert the values of the powerful (master morality) by labeling strength as evil and meekness/suffering as good, thus creating a religion of the oppressed that denies life for an afterlife.

Key Aspects of Nietzsche's View:

Master vs. Slave Morality: Nietzsche argued that master morality (aristocratic, life-affirming) valued strength and nobility, while slave morality (the "herd") created "good" as the opposite of the masters' "good" (which they called "evil").

Ressentiment: This inversion of values stems from ressentiment (resentment) of the weak towards the powerful, making Christianity a religion of the downtrodden, not the strong.

Denial of Life: He saw Christianity as a joyless faith that denigrated the body, instincts, and earthly life in favor of an imagined afterlife, which he viewed as life-denying.

While Nietzsche coined this concept, similar critiques of Christianity's role in encouraging submission and its perceived otherworldly focus have come from other thinkers and movements, including some secular critics and liberation theologians who later reinterpreted or challenged these dynamics.

Charlie Kirk's version? But then, they really aren't Christians are they?

Well of course it does. It is God Fearing Church going Christians who do the work of our Lord.
It is not the Heathens who have food drives and food pantries
to help feed those in need.
It is not the Heathens who have resale shops such as St Vincent dePaul and Goodwill,
employing handicap people and raising money to help the poor.
It is not the Heathens who sponsor homes and schooling to turn the lives around troubled
teens and youth such as Bart Starr Rawhide Boys Ranch and Boys Town. The list goes on.

the immigrants, the marginalized, and the oppressed, it becomes clear they are following someone other than Jesus and that they have much repentance to consider.

Sorry, this regurgitate phrase repeated over and over and over again by the Board’s left and elsewhere has lost all meaning, it’s boring, people don’t care about Trump’s past, they
have moved on worrying about inflation, taxes, etc. looking to President Trump
to turn around senile Biden’s mess of open borders, inflation and so on.

my 'trump efficiency hypothesis' is that everything is a grift, and a lot of bandwidth can be saved by not trying to justify the 1% of exceptions.

in trump's american circumstances, the wealthiest funders will be christians and jews.
of course there are other benefits...
the former adds a demographic edge, while the latter punch above their weight in global media.

now this can lead to bizarre and awkward situations, such as :
- prominent trump supporters (and don himself) being anti-semitic
- bashing muslims as on-brand for the gop, while making deals with them for gain of friends&family
- personal violation by trump of every commandment throughout his life, repeatedly, and some explicitly
(on a scale matched only by fellow christian putin)

its clear with the support of rightwing propaganda, none of the above has stopped the money from flowing.

-----------
this is not to say trump doesnt contain multitudes. pedophilia may have had no grift angle.

Not many MAGA support any of the above missions you’ve mentioned.

Too WOKE.

Too much equity and inclusion.

Too much social justice.

My money says "IN GOD WE TRUST."

On paper money, and, as a national motto, another artifact of the Commie hysteria of the 1950s, along with the God thing added to the pledge, and the Presidential declaration of a "national day of prayer". Not "traditional American values" at all.

My money says "IN GOD WE TRUST."

"In God We Trust. It is the choicest compliment that has ever been paid us, and the most gratifying to our feelings. It is simple, direct, gracefully phrased:
it always sounds well — In God We Trust. I don't believe it would sound any better if it were true." ~Mark Twain

Too bad you woke a-holes don't even let the kiddies read Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn in schools anymore, at least not in the original versions, because you know..."the n word."

But, go ahead, keep quoting from privileged White Males of European dissent.

Too bad your side wants to wipe out Western culture, aren't it?

Couldn't be arsed to actually learn anything, could you?

You just asked ChatGPT to find you a good quote.

"As a lifelong *pro-life* Christian, I’m thrilled to support Donald Trump’s masterstroke — cutting USAID funding in a way that nobly upholds the sanctity of life by ensuring 14 million or so people die.
After all, nothing says love thy neighbor quite like starving them of food, vaccines and clean water.
I like to think of it as a bold, faith-based way to reduce global overcrowding — one child at a time." ~LurkerMop

Could very well be that that's why Trump's are shifting to crypto; they don't trust in something they don't believe exists either.
