Tuckums, a staunch defender of Vladimir Putin while attacking his Western critics, is at the vanguard of a pro-Putin wing of the American conservative movement and is being escorted around Moscow in a black Mercedes van.
On television and online, Russian state media has treated Mr. Carlson as a visiting celebrity, offering a stream of photos and videos of his various stops — arriving at the airport, dining at a restaurant, taking in the “Spartacus” ballet at the Bolshoi Theater.
In one video in wide circulation, including on X, Mr. Tucker told a self-professed fan that he was there because “I wanted to talk to people and look around and see how it was doing — and it’s doing very well.” Gee, most visitors from the West have to worry about being disappeared and finding themselves imprisoned on spying charges for the rest of their lives. Evan Gershkovich, a Wall Street Journal reporter, has been in jail for nearly a year.
Tuckums, though, is treated to fine dining and a box at the “Spartacus” ballet at the Bolshoi Theater.
Umm.

Was it a busy day drilling for oil, keeping non white immigrants out, and counting profits on the backs of exploited people?
Yet after all that.....
The McCarthyites have time to pursue Commie Pinkos.
Hope today's bombing of brown people goes well.
Make sure one of them grows up to that old country western "The 401K Liberals bombed my house and killed my parents. Now I got me a visa and I'm going to Austin and NYC".....lol. (Yes, LOL)

This is what passes for patriotism in the MAGA world now...consorting with the enemy that wants to destroy our democracy.
Sickening.

After all, their cult leader has made it plain that he likes authoritarians and would happily do away with our democracy.
If Trump is elected we will go full kleptocracy/kakistocracy, like Putin's Russia.
F*** Carlson.

“There was an old bastard named Lenin
Who did two or three million men in.
That's a lot to have done in
But where he did one in
That old bastard Stalin did ten in.”
― Robert Conquest
Now Tucker feels a need to jump in
to satisfy MAGA cretins.
My suggestion to psycho Putin
is Trump will pay bigly to un-jail him.

Not much different than Jane Fonda visiting North Vietnam. She was branded a traitor back then. In fact, I know a guy who still won't watch anything she does.

You know what I don't see in either of these comments?
A single criticism of Carlson.

OK, here goes, it was shameful for Carlson to say the things he did about Trump before leaving Fox news... Happy now?

'Fraid I'm not getting the reference. I know who LaRouche is, but what does he have to do with Fonda?
I will have to admit that I did watch 9 to 5.
I was very young during Nam, but a major celebrity visiting an adversary just didn't seem to be right. I still haven't heard anything that justified it.

So you're a Com-Symp. Interesting. (Credit Col. Flagg, as I recall)

Oh, the irony...
“Most Americans are not informed, they have no real idea what’s happening in this region … their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers, and they do that mostly by omission,” Carlson said. “We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin. We are here because we love the United States, and we want it to remain prosperous and free.”
Seems there was something in the news in the not so distant past about a $787.5 million settlement that Fox News had to pay, lying, and Tucker Karlson's "release."

Larouche had a small group of dedicated followers who were actively recruiting new members, soliciting donations and holding petition drives. You would see them in groups of three or four handing out literature on street corners or setting up card tables on college campuses as a base to pitch their message. One of the phrases you would see on their placards and flyers for its shock value to attract attention was "Feed Jane Fonda to the Whales".
This was back in the late 70's and 1980's but I must add I saw a group of LaRouchies with a table set up on a street corner handing out literature near our County Tax Office back around 2004.
You must be a young whipper snapper...

Not very young anymore. A few years away from Medicare.
I knew about the LaRouchies, and I remember not voting for him (before he stopped trying). I must not have gone anywhere they were handing out literature. Don't remember the Fonda/Whales thing at all.
I'm old enough to remember the Krishnas in airports. I don't remember the last time I saw one, though. Definitely not since 9/11, but I think they disappeared from airports even before that.

I moved to Texas in the early 80's and one of the things I saw not long after arriving here as I was driving down a state road in a rural area and at a crossroads were about seven or eight KKK members in their white sheets and pointy hats marching around and shouting, some carrying signs. They weren't blocking the road or anything like today's idiots, and didn't seem to mind my gawking as I drove by.
I knew about the KKK of course but this was the one and only time I saw them in the wild.
