As Buffett said decades ago, "We should have gone into the insurance broker business, It a better one than underwriting."
In my opinion now is a good time to buy AJG. Buy it around $260 or below and hold it. I'll post this on the AJG thread if there is one. Don't worry about pricing or cycles, just hold the stock.
My last recommendations a couple years ago, some may remember, were defense stocks and Norfolk. I recommend stuff about once every few years.

Cursory glance shows AJG is priced dearly despite its move down this year.
One thing to watch out for with AJG is that they do acquisitions, which makes time series of financial figures a bit difficult to track sometimes. That is not at all to say it isn't a good business, just something to bear in mind if you're going to dig in.
