...thanks to "woke" policies.
This April, Baltimore saw five homicides. That is the fewest of any month since 1970, when the city began tracking monthly homicide numbers. In the first six months of the year, homicides were down 22% compared to 2024, and non-fatal shootings were down 19%. This is the latest in a string of historic declines in violent crime. In 2024, homicides dropped 23% from 2023 numbers, and non-fatal shootings dropped 34%. In 2023, the city also saw record-breaking decreases.
What has made Baltimore — which President Trump and other conservatives deride as a “filthy” Democrat-controlled “slum” — so successful in making its streets safer?
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott (D), who was first elected in 2020, has brought the city’s homicide rate down by treating violent crime as a public health crisis. That means treating violent crime as a symptom of multiple factors, including racism, poverty, and past violence. Addressing violent crime as a public health issue involves going beyond arresting people after violence is committed and taking proactive and preventative measures.Wait wut?
They didn't round up people on the street Gestapo-style and ship them off to foreign prisons or countries they had never ever set foot in?
How un-Trumpian... no wonder it's successful.

LOL!
I recommend every blue city go woke on crime. You'll love it.
(It's highly, highly, highly unlikely that's all they did).
Going woke on crime means that pregnant women are murdered in their cars.

Tell me you didn't read the article without telling me you didn't read the article.
Here, for dimwits who cannot or will not read a short article:
In 2020 Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott created the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, which oversees city agencies and community partners working to reduce violence in the city and works in partnership with the Baltimore Police Department and the State’s Attorney’s Office, utilizes a collaboration between law enforcement, community members, and social services.
The city developed a Summer Youth Engagement Strategy and youth shooting victimizations decreased 66 percent and aggravated assault victimizations dropped 31 percent in 2024.
Safe Streets, which involves community members mediating conflicts in ten zones throughout the city that have historically had high gun violence rates “mediated over 2,300 conflicts” and “hosted 451 community mobilization events with 58,000+ total attendance, and on average, resulted in 32% lower homicide rates in the first four years.
Dope1Going woke on crime means that pregnant women are murdered in their cars.
Huh.
You sure you're not Stephen Miller who just yesterday was whining like you: "We have communities all across this nation that 20 years ago, before the era of open borders, were completely peaceful, completely stable. Look at a place like Minneapolis. Post mass migration they're unsafe, they're violent, you cannot use the public parks."
Well, I looked.
The city have seen crime rates fall significantly, including robberies (down 47%), carjackings (down 40%) and homicides (down 40%).

They're the first blue city to maybe get it right, assuming any of these facts are correct.
Huh.Yup.
I really, really would like more of you people to live under the kind of governments you all pine for.
Well, I looked.

Sounds too woke, so that can't possibly be what cause the reduction in crime. But even Grok agrees with the above. :)
