Because, he said, he was not on the ballot this time.
Oh, but Donny, in a way you were VERY much on the ballot.

Actually, King Trump may have a valid point.
If you look at the major races, Spanberger in VA and Sherill in NJ are basically the same candidate as Kamala Harris. Post menopausal privileged professional women who can't articulate what they stand for as soon as they go off script.
Other than the whole radical Islamisist thing, Mamdami is much the same as mayor of NYC.
Other than his gender, he's a highly privileged woke Nepo Baby who has never really accomplished anything and who hasn't provided a realistic platform for improving the lives of his constituents.
All come from "big government" jurisdictions, beholden to teachers and public employees unions.
All have no solutions other than raising taxes on the "rich."
Given the very high levels of taxation in all 3 jurisdictions, raising taxes even more--even if supposedly directed just to the wealthy--is not a viable strategy.

yes, trump is right but for another reason.
plenty of evidence MAGA, w/no real independent concept of simple daily experiences like affordability, have gone away. and even more evidence they prefer parroting rightwing media than getting smarter.

Unfortunately, "affordability" is one of those vague, shapeless, ultimately meaningless terms that was probably selected by politicians based on polling and focus groups, you know, by the same marketing types who took the old geezer off of the Cracker Barrel logo, and thought Dylan Mulvaney would be a good salesperson for Bud Light.
I can loudly proclaim I am in favor of "affordability!" and I have said absolutely nothing at all.
That's the beauty of this kind of political catchphrase.
The most direct impact that local and state governments can have on "affordability" is to lower their expenditures and to lower the tax burden on their citizens.
But cutting expenditures and lowering taxes, are not part of ProGlib/Dem politics.
Government cannot make anything more "affordable" by imposing more rules and restrictions and requirements on taxpayers or businesses.
For example, imposing rent control in NYC does not make housing "more affordable." It makes it less affordable (except for those like Mamdani himself who already live in rent-controlled housing) because it provides disincentives for investors to create more housing units.
Mamdani cannot make groceries "more affordable" by setting up a chain of "free grocery stores." He can create shortages of grocery stores and food by doing so. It's basic economics.

They don't understand basic economics. Never mind that 2,000 years of human history has sprung from it; the droogs really do believe that A Really Smart Expert is better able to pick winners and losers with high accuracy.
Thinking people know that's not the case. The ACA and the "affordability" nonsense that goes with it was always an Obamian lie to sell the program. All the ACA did was enrich insurance companies *And* make employer plans worse. That's it.
No lib wants to discuss actual lowering of health care pricing; they don't understand it so they put their fingers in their ears and pretend not to hear.

incredible. as in this is your nth post with zero credibility.
'affordability' was the key issue with the gop in 2024. ~80% of locals ads were on this in my area.
what the gop understood that dems didnt, is that complex discussions around covid disrupted supply chains, inflation, and the cantillion effect did not have a conservative audience that could understand them. and this continues, with no concept of how tariffs may affect prices, and inventing the word 'groceries' seem sufficiently placating.
you may remember the gop reduction of all economic issues to 'are you better off today'? sure , the parrots may crow about that 1 day egg prices go down, but the in-your-face daily receipts and monthly payments all trend severely up, even for 90% of the lower income gop voters that thought trump was gonna make them rich.
the core MAGA base of racism, misogyny, christofascism ; those were always layups against harris.
i still dont want to believe those alone were big enough for the win; reality seems more aligned with success in simplistic consumer cost messaging.
pre-emptively, do not confuse this with a dearth of rightwing parroting of excuses. you have shown that supply is plentiful, block engaged.

They don't understand basic economics. Gee, why aren't you cultists pissing and moaning about Atlanta's Azalea Fresh Market, the city's first grocery store -- the second will be in another food desert in Southwest Atlanta -- for which it's providing funding, land/lease support, and oversight with daily operations handled by partner Savi Provisions... pretty much exactly what Mamdani is proposing.

Some dopple on ignore: Mamdani cannot make groceries "more affordable" by setting up a chain of "free grocery stores." First, he isn't proposing "free grocery stores".
One of Mamdani’s key campaign promises is the creation of city-owned grocery stores. “As Mayor, Zohran will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit,” his campaign website says. “Without having to pay rent or property taxes, they will reduce overhead and pass on savings to shoppers.”https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/26/mamdani-city-run-g..."low prices", is not the same as free. Private grocery stores locate to maximize profit, which is not necessarily, where a grocery store is needed. For a number of years, there was not a single big, chain, grocery store in the city of Detroit. Residents had to either drive to the burbs, or pay higher prices, and tolerate worse selection, at "convenience" stores.
We old phartz remember when the only place to buy liquor in Ohio, was in a "state liquor store", where the profits were paid directly to the state treasury, rather than into the pockets of a "JC".
Who we are
Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) is a unique public/private partnership that ensures the safe and fair distribution of high-proof liquor across our state and directs profits from the sale of liquor to fund economic development in Ohio. In everything we do, advocating for responsible consumption is always our top priority.https://www.ohlq.com/about-ohlqI never thought of Ohio as overtly communist.
