'Wake Up, It Is a Time to Be Concerned': FBI Director Wray Issues Stark Warning at Committee Hearing

(No, I don't care how much you people hate Townhall. Learn to process relevant material. In this case what's relevant is what Wray is saying.)

In a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray provided some worrying ' if not outright alarming ' answers to questions from U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) regarding current terrorist threats against the homeland.

"What has now increased is the greater possibility of one of these foreign terrorist organizations directing an attack in the United States," Wray told senators on the committee. "We haven't seen evidence that it's actually happening yet, but what we have seen is ' and I listed them off in my opening remarks ' one terrorist organization after another calling for attacks," he explained. "We should wake up, it is a time to be concerned ' we are in a dangerous period."

Hmm. How might terrorists be getting into the country?

Sen. Scott asked whether the FBI is able to track threats and prevent terrorist attacks within the United States.

"I couldn't say that we're able to detect all individuals," Wray replied. "The people that we know about ' as Secretary Rumsfeld used to say, 'the known known' ' we're quite good at, together with our partners. But it is 'the unknown unknown' that I worry about quite a bit,"

What a reassuring answer. The next one is even better:
Sen. Scott followed up by asking whether the FBI is aware of any terrorist organizations operating in the United States at present. Again, Wray's answer was less than reassuring.

"Well, we're not tracking that," Wray responded. "But again, I can point back to what it is ' the gaps in our intelligence are real and it's something that we have concerns about."

Now if these were parents at some school board or some dude wearing a MAGA hat outside of an abortion clinic silently praying, you can bet the FBI has a file as a think as the Yellow Pages on those effers. Actual terrorists who want to murder Americans? Yeah, not so much.

The FBI is ridiculous. As in, a ridiculous agency that's lost the plot in terms of what its mission is and focus areas should be. Hopefully we as a nation don't pay a price for it.

And along these lines, D.C. Bob (Karine Jean-Pierre) has this to say about pro-Hamas protestors:

https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/17190849447...

Q: Does President Biden think that the anti-Israel protestors in this country are extremists?

Ans: Big rambling word salad that speaks in generalities. She does invent a new lie about Biden deciding to run for Prez after Charlotsville.

Again: The FBI was all over those domestic terrorist parents at school boards. Anyone think they're investigating who's setting up these Hamas rallies on campuses?

Yeah. Me neither.

Here's the problem with Townhall, sparky: it's lying.

The article writes that "Sen. Scott asked whether the FBI is able to track threats and prevent terrorist attacks within the United States."

That's not what Sen. Scott asked Director Wray (link to Wray's testimony below).

Scott asked: "So Director Wray, is the FBI able to track all threats and prevent these individuals from conducting attacks on U.S. soil."

BIG DIFFERENCE. Of course the FBI cannot track ALL threats.

Also, your Townhall article conveniently omits every word of testimony about domestic terrorism or homegrown threats which were featured in Wray's opening statement and in his testimony, because, well, its slanting the article to appeal to readers who are only interested in them dirty furriners who are out to kill us and not the domestic terrorists attacking Jews and Muslims at an alarming rate.

Here in the United States, our most immediate concern is that violent extremists -- individuals or small groups -- will draw inspiration from the events in the Middle East to carry out attacks against Americans going about their daily lives. That includes not just homegrown violent extremists inspired by a foreign terrorist organization but also domestic violent extremists targeting Jewish or Muslim communities. We've seen that already with the individual we arrested last week in Houston, who'd been studying how to build bombs and posted online about his support for killing Jews. And with the tragic killing of a 6-year-old Muslim boy in Illinois in what we're investigating as a federal hate crime.

There isn't a single word about domestic, homegrown terrorism in your Townhall article, is there?

And speaking of homegrown terrorists (just to bury the asinine distractions): Good for the DOJ here. About time they did their freaking jobs, so credit where credit is due:

This kid sounds like a real peach

https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndny/pr/cornell-stude...

The complaint alleges that Dai posted threatening messages to the Cornell section of an online discussion site, including posts calling for the deaths of Jewish people and a post that said 'gonna shoot up 104 west.' According to information provided by Cornell University Police and other public information, 104 West is a Cornell University dining hall that caters predominantly to Kosher diets and is located next to the Cornell Jewish Center, which provides residences for Cornell students. In another post, Dai allegedly threatened to 'stab' and 'slit the throat' of any Jewish males he sees on campus, to rape and throw off a cliff any Jewish females, and to behead any Jewish babies. In that same post, Dai threatened to 'bring an assault rifle to campus and shoot all you pig jews.'

This seems on the light side, though:
The charge filed against Dai carries a maximum term of 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of up to 3 years.

Only 1 charge, and only 5 years?

Dope: For F's sake.
It's obvious that Scott is talking about terrorists.

This is FOX news Dope, and they included what Townhall left out.

"We assess that the actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration, the likes of which we haven't seen since ISIS launched its so-called caliphate several years ago," Wray said. "In just the past few weeks, multiple foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against Americans and the West."

Wray warned that the most immediate concern is that individuals or small groups will draw inspiration from the events to attack Americans, including homegrown violent extremists who are inspired by foreign terrorist organizations, or by domestic violent extremists who are targeting Muslim or Jewish targets.

He cited the arrest of a man in Houston who had been studying how to build bombs and had posted support of killing Jews; and the killing of a 6-year-old Muslim boy in Illinois, which Wray said is being investigated as a federal hate crime.

"We also cannot and do not discount the possibility that Hamas or another foreign terrorist organization may exploit the current conflict to conduct attacks here on our own soil," he said.

Wait. I thought "America was more respected" now so why do terrorists want to attack America?

Also, WHY is the government - WAGGING THE DOG with such language about terrorism?

I hope Biden doesn't wag the dog via conflicts in the Middle East or elsewhere.

Buddy, you're so deeply in the cult, you're unable to see even a sliver of light.

First, I have family in Plainfield and have been there dozens of times. I live less than an hour from Plainfield where Joseph Czuba murdered 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume and stabbed his mother more than a dozen times.

Who was Czuba?

Detectives also questioned Czuba's wife, who said he frequently listened to conservative talk radio, and was "heavily interested" in the conflict in the Middle East. Czuba wanted Shahin and her son to move out of the home they rented from him, and believed that he and his wife "were in danger" and that Shahin was going to "call over her Palestinian friends or family to harm them."

So, Czuba was just another guy deep in the cult, one who "conservative talk radio" pushed over the edge.

The cherry-picked videotape?

Here's Wray's entire testimony, proving that Townhall lied: https://www.c-span.org/video/?531450-1/fbi-directo...

And, no, I didn't leave "out that part". I was explaining to you how you were "spun" by Townhall, your source, which neglected to report on domestic and homegrown terrorists because it doesn't fit the Townhall and rightwing narrative.

And why using Townhall as your only source -- rather than, for example, going to the actual testimony like I did -- gives you only one side of the story, not the full story.

Of course there are groups outside of the U.S. that mean to do us harm; no one disputes that. But sources like Townhall want you to believe that foreign actors are the only threat to the homeland when, as Joseph Czuba and others have demonstrated, is false.

The cherry-picked videotape?

Of his actual words. Words that were broadcast on the news because his testimony is news.

Yes, it is an incredible thing to witness.

Everyday these folks get bowled over by the truth and everyday they proceed to pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. (Paraphrasing Churchill)

It does seem rather cultish.
