ProIsraelBiden in the company of ProIsraelClinton and ProIsraelObama were protested by the anti-apartheid crowd.
While Israel's hold on America's Ruling Class and - huge segments of both sides of American politics is nowhere near weakened, there's a few trends that are telling: (Both sides being Pro Israel Democrats -- and the Right Wingers who are spat on by them - yet still like to say "I support Israel!) Funny, you can't support Obama on getting more health insurance to Red States, but you can support the same liberals on "Israel!" - but - no worries, your mindset will eventually change kinda like it did on immigration and trade. Kinda like it is on abortion in a few very Red States ;)
1.)The protesters grow a bit more brazen and badass and see their numbers rise.
2.)This forces America's leaders to TALK and PRETEND that they are a bit more strict on Israel than they really are....but the fact that they HAVE TO posture like that -- is great amazing progress.
These two items alone are reasons for optimism.
BUT eventually, those protesting really really need to organize their dollars and votes. We will never match the AIPAC crowd on money and influence and manipulation. Never....no way . BUT by concentrating votes and dollars, the needle can be moved.
In coming years, in swing states like Michigan, I am hoping that people realize "Hey, we're voting for people, and paying taxes that go to bombing people like us!" and earn to at very least, WITHOLD their vote for the side that takes them for granted - the LEFT.
In the meantime the Right will see that it is losing influence....and more of its voters grow poorer, and - well, more dead due to age. Just like the Right did on trade and got some working class voters ......the Right WILL bend a bit, and enjoy the electoral potential by doing so.
We shall overcome.
Or, overwhelm.
Also....think. The "Religion of Peace" ......think what they did to Israeli civilians. To KIDS AND BABIES.....can you imagine that right afterward, key Western Leaders are telling Israel to show caution???? That the world see Israel as the bad guy? But that IS THE CASE....and the reasons for such are many that I won't expand on here. I hate what happened. I really do. But - hey, it's the West treating Hamas like a legit government, not me.
And it's not me.....who for centuries causes people in the world to cling to certain attitudes.
But it doesn't come from thin air either.
Whether it's K street or J street (for those in the know)......O the times they are a changing.
