The Washington Post is reporting that ICE is drafting plans to mass release between 4,000 and 6,000 migrants as a result of the House Speaker Mike "Moses" Johnson's refusal to bring the senate immigration bill to the floor for a vote.

The bipartisan border bill that faltered due to Republican opposition last week would have earmarked $7.6bn (Ł6bn) for ICE, including an additional $3.2bn for detention capacity that would have boosted the agency's ability to house detainees by several thousand beds.

According to the Washington Post - which first reported the story - the bill's collapse prompted ICE officials to circulate an internal proposal to slash costs by cutting detentions from 38,000 to 22,000.

A budget shortfall -- a $700 million budget gap -- would also mean that ICE's capacity to deport migrants would suffer. ICE deported 142,580 immigrants in fiscal year 2023.

But, hey, if you ain't got the money 'cause Orange Jesus wants to run on immigration -- yeah, the irony, I know -- that's gonna' end.
