Protests and political expression as we've seen recently by brave young people demanding justice.....do not just get going overnight. Such attitudes - and the brazenness to express them are fomented over a long period of time.
They'll be pushback.
Yeah the usual suspects of corporate and money power will do all it can to stifle thought and expression.
But the fact that it has even gotten this far.....
Handshake of the week - Columbia and like institutions. Don't listen to those Bushies and Trumpers who used to warn that this stuff will get out of control thanks to the Left.
Sure, those with the money and power will stifle speech and expression again - as usual.
But they can't change hearts - - they'll only make said hearts more bitter.....

Wow. Columbia just went full remote learning. In other words, they just handed the campus over to the little Hamasholes.

It is way worse than Jew hatred. Some protesters are heard chanting Death to America along with Death to Israel. Some are even carrying an ISIS flag.
Yikes, can this even be fixed? These adolescents have been steeped in America is racist and the earth is dying since grade school, so long that they don't have much hope any more. They never developed any sense of pride in our country, something worth defending despite our flaws.
Then, to these mostly white, rich, disaffected ivy league students, let them study along side foreign students. Too many of these foreign students hate our country and everything about it and don't make a secret of it. A volatile mix for sure.
But to ignite it, we have the outside professional agitators, not even students, who co-mingle with the students, supply the professional signage, bring the tents and megaphones, and stir things up to the highest emotional state possible for as long as possible.
That's what we are seeing now on major universities all across the country. I frankly don't see how to contain it, let alone reverse it, and remain a free and open society.

Maybe some. But we still have people walking around in white robes, some carrying Nazi flags, etc. There will always be some. As you say, "free and open society". We have to put up with the bad to get the good. Though the people with the Nazi flags, white robes, ISIS flags, and such, probably end up on FBI watch lists. I'm sure the ISIS flag-wavers just did.

I acknowledge the other extremists you cite but the big difference with this one is the numbers and nationwide simultaneous outbreaks.
For every marching Nazi, flag or not, we see occasionally, there are 1,000 times that many in our face every day. Jews feel especially threatened by this one because they are forced to live within this on campus "diverse community" where large groups of demonstrators chant for their death every day. Free speech right? When somebody inevitably gets killed, then what?

IANAL, but I'm not sure free speech covers "death to Jews". It probably covers "death to America" since America isn't really a thing. It's an artificial (mostly legal) construct. You can burn a flag, and that is covered by free speech. If they said "death to Americans", that might be crossing a line because now you're -potentially- threatening actual people. Just as "death to Jews" would threaten people. The police should be monitoring those sorts of volatile protests, because they can get violent. "Death to Israel" probably(?) is on this side of the line because, like America, Israel is an artificial legal construct (as all nations are).
Just a guess, but I think I'm reasonably close. As long as you aren't threatening actual people, it's usually protected speech. And, yes, that can result in the occasional death. Whether self-immolation, or the Arizonan that killed the Sikh after 9/11 because he saw a turban, or plowing into protestors with cars, or numerous other examples. When it crosses the line of assault/battery/homicide, that's clearly over the line. Other than that, it's kinda fuzzy, and I don't envy the judges trying to make those calls.

Only by fixing the culture and by firmly - and thoroughly - throwing the hard core left out of office at every level down to dogcatcher. That party has done more to destroy the fabric of the country with its constant Blame America First attitude and coddling of terrorist sympathizer like The Squad than any foreign army ever did.

There’s no “but both sides…” here, sorry. You haven’t seen mass klan marches since the 1920s. White nationalism IS NOT a thing sweeping college campuses (yes, yes, one of your fellow travelers will be along shortly with some bogus links proclaiming otherwise).
The hard core left has 100% control over the culture and the rotten campus politics you see today are directly downstream of it.
