I can't help wondering whether it would be more cost-effective to base a missile (or drone) defense system on GPS jamming rather than interceptor missiles.

Go old school: inertial guidance. Or, where possible, an internal terrain map. One day, my Garmin decided I had left the road and stopped giving directions entirely. I keep a set of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, paper maps in my glove box.
