Love or hate the guy, he has too much or not enough power, I think unarguably he's this generation's greatest engineer/entrepreneur. He basically started two completely new industries (EVs and internet from space) and had a big piece of one (electronic payments). While he didn't invent it, SpaceX has completely changed space launch and slashed payload costs to a level not thought possible.

I'm far more impressed with the above than the IT world which has pretty much done nothing more for mankind the past 20 years than to more effectively target us with adds and generate anonymous hate platforms. Props to the early internet pioneers however. I think one could make a case for a BI and AI as a way to measure time (before and after internet).
