and with every single 1-on-1 negotiation meeting existing to serve corruption and publicity, there is only the highly predictable left to say :

But preferred to keep the duties broader and less complicated.

specifically to the UK, geopol analyst peter zeihan noted long before tariffs that the UK was the nation most desperate to cut a new trade deal. until trump needed the publicity.
well , at least insignificant changes to trade don't have to rely on the nonbinding contract that might not even exist.
as trump says, simple.
